<p>An unusual late Victorian walnut cased stationary and writing box with original fitted interior and secret drawer c.1900. Polished walnut casework with brass campaign style handle to the top and fall front with key release. The front of the case opening and falling forward to form a writing surface with leather pad. The interior of the box superbly fitted with pigeon holes across the top with original inset labels below for bills unpaid etc. Four sections for address books, note books below with original black leather bound books plus matching stamp, match and ink boxes included. The centre section with spring release for the letter and envelopes rack, which tilts the rack forward to access the contents. Concealed drawer to the left released by pulling forward one of the pigeon hole divisions. Bears the makers label for London stationers Horton & Gunn, New Bond St. Presented in superb original condition with a rich patina and superb interior. Working lock but without original key - key included for decoration.
