<p>A fine quality William IV period octagonal rosewood work table with beautiful carved decoration and an original fitted interior c.1830. Octagonal form with figured veneers to the hinged moulded edge top. Panelled sides below with a carved frieze and four support arms extending down to the base forming a cradle, within which is sat an octagonal compartment. Baluster pedestal to the base with a petal carved mount, all sat on a four way foot with four claw feet and original brass castors to each. The hinged lid opening to reveal an original fitted interior with divisions to hold sewing tools, silks and cottons, plus a lidded central compartment, which could store needlework. Presented in superb original condition with an even mellow colour and rich patina. Measures 18" wide x 18" deep x 27.5" high and a 16" span at the foot. Stock number 43290.</p>
