<p>A superb large late George III period oak refectory table with substantial base, seating up to 14 people c.1800. The top with three broads and thick planks, with cleated ends overlapping each end of the base to allow for comfortable seating. The top sat over a substantial base with decorative carved top rail matching to both sides and the ends. Turned legs to each corner and the centre with scroll design corbels to the corners and pegged joints throughout. Supporting double H stretcher to the base allowing easy seating to each side. Seats six to each side and one to each end with ample space in the middle of the table for candlesticks and tableware. A difficult to find large table presented in excellent original condition with a rich mellow colour and polish, very sturdy and useable. The top removes for transport. Measures 12' long x 3'1" wide x 31.5" high to the surface. Stock number 40507.</p>
