<p>A fine quality George III period figured mahogany stick barometer with engraved silvered scale by highly regarded maker Thomas Blunt; in fully restored and working condition c.1810. Slim figured mahogany case with moulded edge to the trunk, swan neck pediment to the top with reeded edge glazed door sat over the scale and turned cistern cover to the base. Engraved silvered scale with mercury action barometer tube set to the centre and vernier marker sat to the side. Bears the makers name Thomas Blunt (1760-1822) a highly regarded maker who was maker to George III. Presented in superb condition with a rich colour and polish, the movement fully serviced and working. The image of the trade card is from E Banfield, 1991, <em>Barometer Makers and Retailers 1660 - 1900</em>, Baros Books.  Measures 38" long x 5" wide at the pediment x 2.75" trunk width x 2" deep.
