Vintage English Lipton's Brass Tea CaddyAn interesting Early 20th Century Vintage English Brass Tea Caddy, issued by Lipton's to commemorate the British Empire Exhibition 1924, which was officially opened at Wembley by King George V on St. George's Day, 23rd April of that year. Lipton's, founded by Sir Thomas Lipton in Glasgow at the end of the 19th Century, were largely responsible, for the growth of the mass market in tea drinking, promoting the product under the slogan, "Direct from the tea gardens to the teapot". This example showing it's age a little with small dents and a crack, but nevertheless, a nice little piece. Height : 12.10 cm. / 4.75 inches : Width : 10.70 cm. / 4.25 inches : Year : Circa 1924.
