*These armchairs / side chairs are an excellent quality pair, and they date to the Victorian period.
*Their beautifully fashioned solid walnut framework is partly carved and partly fronted with burr walnut veneers, while the well turned and reeded front legs terminate in original china casters. The chamfered back legs are octagonal shaped.
*Their fan back design is such a pleasing feature, so too are the circular shaped seats, and along with the back rests the low curved arms are partly buttoned.
*Their non original moquette upholstery compliments the style of chair superbly, and its partly finished with braided and roped edging.
*The condition of their framework and legs is generally very good, with mainly minor age related marks of use to mention, including some rubs, scuffs and dings / small dents here and there in the edges and corners.
*The non original upholstery remains in generally very good condition, with only minor marks of use to mention.

About the Date of Manufacture
This antique was produced in the Victorian period (1837 - 1901). The Victorian era of British history was the period of Queen Victorias reign from 20 June 1837 until her death, on 22 January 1901. It was a long period of peace, prosperity and national self-confidence for Great Britain. Some scholars date the beginning of the period in terms of sensibilities and political concerns to the passage of the Reform Act 1832.
