Robert Mouseman Thompson 18" Oak Cow StoolCirca 1970s
A wonderful example of the popular 3 legged Cow Stool from the Kilburn workshops of Robert Mouseman Thompson. Of typical form with a kidney shaped seat supported by three octagonally carved and tapering legs, the wedged leg joints visible through the top of the seat. A trademark mouse carved in high relief to the centre edge of the shaped and subtly adzed seat. Originally purchased as one of a pair, made by the same craftsman.
Excellent condition with solid leg joints and a rich warm colour, just the slightest minor usage nicks to the seat top, too small to be visible on the images below.
Size: 42.7(w) x 35.5(d) x 45.5(h)cm, seat 36.5(w x 28(d)cm
