Antique Embossed Brown Leather Covered Green Glass Flask

An interesting antique brown leather covered green
glass flask, embossed on all sides with blind
stamped and gilded designs, the gilding now
somewhat faded although still clearly visible. The
neck bound around with a leather thong, the
obverse mounted with a gilded heraldic device in
the form of an eagle rampant upon a bundle of
arrows. { Since there would appear to be no axe
present, we have resisted the temptation to refer
to this element of the design as fasces. } The
cork stopper wholly leather covered. Purchased in
Spain and believed to be Spanish, 19th Century.
